Lauren Renzetti (2014)
acrylic on canvas board and detritus
21in × 21in × 1in — 6lb
Toronto artist Lauren Renzetti finds great influences for her work in her daily world as an art teacher. This painting is based on an ongoing series about macro landscapes – from a Landsat photograph (from a satellite in outer space from the earth, viewed in false colour photography). This is the largest landscape imaginable - rarely seen, making the human barely significant. Renzetti’s artistic focus is printmaking, textured- high relief-painting, and collage.
